I recently graduated with an M.S. from the Coral Reef Health and Molecular Ecology Lab at FAU-Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute under the mentorship of Dr. Joshua Voss. I am originally from outside of Rochester, NY and completed my B.S. in Marine Vertebrate Biology at Stony Brook University in 2021. In August 2023, I moved to Australia to continue my education as a Ph.D. student at James Cook University under the advisement of Dr. Kate Quigley.
Broadly, my research interests include coral reef ecology, genomics, selective breeding, and the application of science for effective coral reef management and restoration. Outside of school I love cooking, birding, photography, painting, and paddle boarding. I also run a sustainable ocean apparel company called SLB Art Co. My Ph.D. dissertation will focus on 1) free-living Symbiodiniaceae biogeography around Australia, 2) culturing Symbiodiniaceae, and 3) inoculating selectively bred coral juveniles with specific algal symbiont taxa. Please check out the most current version of my C.V. for more information on my background. |
